Bienvenue

Paris!

Im finally in Paris!!!

ive only been in my dorm for like 2 or 3 days but its already feeling a little more normal to be here thank GOD. The first night here i was kind of super messed up over how stressful the entire moving in situation was (shoutout maikel for carrying half my shit for me love you gf) and the entire grocery nightmare (ill elaborate later) BUT im here finally and im moved in and im living.

it took a few days and a few failed outings to get general living stuff, such as toilet paper which im pretty sure i had to live 24 hours without (dont ask how) but im relatively confident i have more or less everything i need to survive ish. im still working on ohmygodileftthemilkoutholdon

the milk is safely in the fridge now guys dont worry i know that stressed you all out a little. anyways im still working on the making my room look pretty and less of a jail cell stuff. i have a FEW things on my walls and my shelves look pretty nice but i have so much more to add before i actually feel like this is a place i want to actually live in. i really really wanna get a cheap rug somewhere so my floor is less terrifying to me because i HATE the floor atm it freaks me out a little. its PURPLE by the way. freaky i know. i need that covered up as much as possible asap.

i also need to make it more green. beleive me ive made every possible stride to make each appliance be at least somewhat green but sometimes the cheapest option was boring old black so i had to make some exceptions. its so not green enough though. im really regretting getting the cheapest bedsheets because of how unbeleivably overstimulated i was in ikea but whatever i can cover it w the green blanket whenever i want. maybe i can get a green stirring spoon cus i made my first meal today (mac and cheese) and all i had to stir it was a small autism spoon cus i refused to buy big spoons and it was terrible. but then all my kicthen stuff wont match cus everything else is black. uuugggghhh its too hard to buy cheap stuff thats kinda ugly because its cheap and i have to abandon it in 4 months anyways.

today i bought some more basic living requirements but what ive REALLY been on the search for is this little portable printer so i can put my cat and maikel on my walls. i really really wanna be able to decorate and have like reema maikel lauren trint juliana all my friends on my wall with a few silly weird ass pictures put up so i get distracted from the fact the walls are actually really nasty and i hate them. i think im gonna save some of my junk for my journal to go on my wall cus its looking really bare atm. i also got a big ass map of the metro system yesterday which i am ABSOLUTELY putting on my wall i just havent decided where yet.

also i have food pretty much DOWN already. i bought the basics like pasta, rice, bread. actually no first thing i bought was frosted flakes i lied. the night i got here i went out and got frosted flakes and a bunch of cleaning supplies and some 2 euro wine. i didnt even have cutlery yet i was scooping frosted flakes by the handful.

but that first night was AWFUL. when i went out to go get all the stuff to clean and to eat for the night and tomorrow morning, which was already after going thru my entire moving in process which included my luggage not fitting in the storage locker, almost missing my appointment so abbandoning maikel and having to go on the metro alone to my dorm, and then having to haul all my shit along the streets of paris, my card decided not to work AT THE CHECKOUT. WHILE I HAD ALREADY FULLY PACKED MY BAGS. so i had to BEG this man (lovely lovely man btw shoutout to anonymous french man who works at franprix love you) to keep my entire tote full of things behind the counter while i RAN back to my dorm and got my physical card because my bank decided to lock me out on mobile and not let me transfer any money. meanwhile i was running along the streets of paris SOBBING on the phone to my mom to try and log into my bank account and made sure i had any money which SHE ALSO couldnt log into btw. we had to get the bank to send a code to the LANDLINE PHONE. IN CANADA. TO RESET MY PASSWORD. SO I COULD PAY FOR MY STUPID FROSTED FLAKES. turns out the issue was IKEA. i spent so much money at ikea earlier getting all the stuff for my dorm that my credit went above its limit (which i didnt know because i was LOCKED OUT. it charged me 29$ for overuse UGH) and it wouldnt let me use it anymore. thankfully i got back to the store in time because he said he'd have to put it back all after 15 minutes and i got to pay with my debit card which WOULDNT TAP which TERRIFIED me so i had to insert my card and all and THANKFULLY it worked after all. the man was so freaking nice tho he was like n'enquiette pas, ca arrive, c'est d'accord (LOVE THIS MAN HE COULD SO TELL HOW STRESSED I WAS).

anyways. i got my frosted flakes.

thats about all i have to say other than me speaking franglais to a woman in the bank line where she was making sure i knew what crazy things trump was saying about canada (loved her too btw such a sweet woman other than originally thinking i was american). sorry i dont have anything super interesting to update you all on atm i've been mainly just sort of settling in getting all my stuff in order and trying to survive. ill do more fun stuff once i actually have a proper home and know where to go and have friends to not just do everything alone.

cutesy little riv bar ^^^^
